About the Orbit Namer

Orbit Namer is a free Braze naming convention generator that helps lifecycle and CRM marketers produce consistent, structured names for every Braze asset: Canvases, campaigns, segments, Content Blocks, templates, and more. A good naming convention turns a chaotic Braze instance into a searchable, reportable, team-friendly system. This tool removes the guesswork.

How to use

  1. Pick a channel (email, push, SMS, in-app, Canvas, etc.).
  2. Select the program type, stage, and audience dimensions.
  3. Add free-text values where nothing in the dropdowns fits (custom option supported on every dimension).
  4. Copy the generated name into Braze. Copy the recommended tags to the tag field.

Common use cases

  • Standardising naming across a new Braze instance
  • Cleaning up legacy assets after a Braze audit
  • Onboarding new team members to a consistent convention
  • Preparing for a Braze migration or reorganisation

Who it's for

Lifecycle marketers, CRM managers, and marketing operations teams using Braze, especially at companies where multiple people build campaigns and consistency has slipped.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Braze naming convention?
A Braze naming convention is a structured pattern (e.g. channel_program_stage_audience_date) applied to every Braze asset: Canvases, campaigns, segments, and Content Blocks, so teams can search, filter, and report on them consistently.
Is Orbit Namer free?
Yes. Orbit Namer is 100% free, no sign-up required, no usage limits. It runs entirely in your browser.
Can I use a custom naming convention?
Yes. Every dimension supports a Custom… option so you can use values that aren't in the default dropdowns.
What are Braze tags and how are they used?
Braze tags are labels applied to assets for grouping, filtering, and reporting. Orbit Namer recommends tags based on your selections so your assets are discoverable in the Braze UI.
Does this work for ESPs other than Braze?
The convention structure is Braze-inspired but works well for any CRM or ESP. The tag recommendations are Braze-specific.
